Georgia Malone & Company, Inc.
A Higher Standard In Real Estate Services

Georgia Malone, president of Georgia Malone & Co., Inc., is an attorney, broker, real estate consultant and rainmaker, whose business savvy, tenacity, litigation and negotiation skills and understanding of the real estate market have been instrumental in formulating pivotal deals that have changed the face of New York City.

These include the development of Fifth Avenue's Olympic Tower; the Battery Park City entertainment, retail and Embassy Suites hotel project; and the retail/ entertainment complex with a 465-room Doubletree Hotel (now known as the Hilton) on 42nd Street and Times Square. The latter two deals, developed Forest City Ratner, and Hilton Hotel Corp., who will be operating the hotels resulting from both deals, amount to $380 million combined. The deals mark two of just a few new hotel construction projects to take place in New York City in a decade and give the developer and hotel chain an important New York presence in the hotel market.

Malone is skilled at putting together both joint ventures for large retail/entertainment development sites, as well as huge residential investment portfolios. For example, she acts as a consultant/broker for several of the largest residential REITs in the country.

She also has had more than a decade of experience working on landlord/tenant issues as a senior partner with Borah Goldstein Altschuler & Schwartz, and as general counsel with the New York City Rent Stablilization Association (RSA), where she helped create the first rent registration system and many of RSA's educational programs after the 1984 Omnibus Housing Bill. Additionally, she has served as a lobbyist for landlords and developers in the City Council and in Albany. Malone was also an adjunct professor in commercial tenant and landlord law at NYU.

Through her familiarity with the complexities of New York State rent laws and her vast roster of contacts and relationships with developers, REITs and owners, Malone has become adept at finding, obtaining and clearing commercial sites and assembling properties for development and subsequent sale. In addition, Malone also successfully represents both purchasers and sellers of properties in handling the closing functions.
